it's always amusing to see how the news media has to really REACH so as not to say nasty things about public figures. My personal favorite was when Strom Thurmond died, and all the articles were basically like: "Well, uh, he was there a REALLY long time, and... uh... he wasn't ALWAYS a racist!"
Of course, this only applies to politicians and the clergy. When Michael Jackson goes, there will be SHIT TALKIN' APLENTY.

I gave you high marks. This whole affair reminds me of last June, when Reagan went. For like three or four weeks people flew their flags at half-staff. It got to be pretty freakin ridiculous after a while. I'd point to a flag and say "Look honey, president reagan's STILL DEAD!" And CNN and FOX news would still be running stories about, it like it's news or something! And I can see it happening again now. NEWS FLASH: POPE STILL DEAD, MORE AT 11.
I hope they pick the African guy for the next pope. Maybe he will be smart enough to OK condom use, that would keep all of his followers in Africa and everywhere else from dying of aids. |
