general plastic manifesto

Its quite NOT surprising that the newest trend in the modern world is to change our physicality in order to feel new as a person (.ie weight loss mania, plastic surgery tv, fashion "experts", makeover" transformations" etc, etc, etc ad infinitum)

When we are subordinating our personae on a regular basis to what we have come to understand as the definition of what we should be it is somehow understandable that we would come to this frightening yet patent crossroads in our societal evolution. Somehow I am still surprised. Perhaps I assumed that we would come to this juncture more eloquently than we have, perhaps witnessing mass suicides at random or regressing to witch burning. Unfortunately, or fortunately, as evolutionary forces may prove, it has actually come to the point at which we are actually redefining our outsides ,surgically, in order to define our insides, in most cases for the first time. When it is that we are neglecting artistic endeavor and embracing economic gain as the foremost item of import in our society, it is only a matter of time before the internal incongruencies not only distract us from the world around us but from ourselves as well.

Ego :
The self, especially as distinct from the world and other selves.

It is interesting that what it is that our society needs most of all , being separation of ego and state, is what has been to this point the most difficult in coming to fruition, yet even as we are becoming the most egoistic, self righteous and ignorant group yet to inhabit the planet, we are involitiously finding balance in separating ourselves from the entities which we have deemed the ruling bodies.......ourselves. we seem to be subconsciously becoming more dualistic than we had ever planned. We bring upon ourselves in everyday judgment of others, a society which pits the anglo-saxon , mono-theistic christian (yes without a capital c) doctrines of a pretty, capitalistic world, against the people who wish to be otherwise......yes....US! ME! WE! YOU! You know , the general you..........me! we don't want to be what we have created ourselves to be. Perhaps you may say that this is a stretch, but it is simply fractal frames my friends....fat bits in early apple talk.

Of course most of you who are reading this are not part of the problem (or answer, if you subscribe to the "humans must extinguish themselves in order to regain galactic balance" theory) but look around yourselves for god's (my, and your) sake. Are not your contemporaries selling themselves to themselves at a rate and un-candid quality never before seen?

The solution:

be real
real: Being or occurring in fact or actuality; having verifiable existence
: True and actual; not imaginary, alleged, or ideal
: Genuine and authentic; not artificial or spurious
: Free of pretense, falsehood, or affectation
: Existing objectively in the world regardless of subjectivity or conventions of thought or language.
: Of, relating to, or being an image formed by light rays that converge in space.

Create art
art:
: The conscious production or arrangement of sounds, colors, forms, movements,
: Skill that is attained by study, practice, or observation

see
see:

:To understand; comprehend

:To consider to be
:To believe possible
:To know through firsthand experience

be as you are

lose your ego...lose your separation from the world and others

we are all an organ, a part, a fractal branch of each other.

DO NOT BECOME WHAT IS SEEN AS EXPECTED, OR DEFINED AS NECCESARY

just be you

you know........the general you...........

ME!

Your plea falls flat on my ears, though. Perhaps it's the pink rhinestone barette at my temple, blocking the grok?

I do not make fun. The problem is - to make the plea, you've got to remove yourself so far from "common ground" as to become incomprehensible to even your partners in arms.

...of my days in college as you sound like a paper for a philosophy class. Actually, more specifically like my "history of consciousness" class with all this speak of dualistic, christian, personae etc... .

I understand your concern that the individual is being subverted by the masses but where is the GFD in this? Where is the personal experience that made you come to this realization? Where is the frustration, the anger or do you just wax abstractly about these things without some cause in your ordinary life?

apparently you have no need for this line of rhetoric as you studied these issues in college. i on the other hand am actually aware of and frightened by what i see around me an a daily basis. where is the personal experience???? um, i'm alive....um....and have the keen power of observation. life and philosophical meanderings may end up in a classroom, but they were not born there my friend.

I enjoy your style. I enjoyed your GFD. I think the 'GFD understood' was easily discernible. Paraphrasing Madge, everybody: "You're soaking in it!" Anyhoozie, I'm not sure I'm spelling 'discernible' right but I will shoot it off and prepare to be corrected. If I can ask a favor though: what is a Dojact or what does it acronymize? I'm old fashioned I guess; I always wonder what people's self-selected names refer to. If I can figure them out myself, I do so promptly. If I can't, I sometimes ask.

i see people bending themselves to the will of the masses daily. societal pressures , trends, subconscious allegiance. where did i have these thoughts outside of a classroom? i have never had these thoughts INSIDE of a classroom. where do you think philosophy is created? in real life my friend...in real everyday observations of our world. the philosophy that is studied in classrooms was not created for the classroom, but it is studied for the reason that it can reveal directions of thought that most people do not consider. philosophy: Investigation of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning rather than empirical methods.
INVESTIGATION...REASONING... NON-EMPIRICAL OBSERVATION. philosophy is not dead!.....for some people

so it all comes out even in the end.

The whole point of the man's piece is that things which matter cannot be packaged either by consumer researchers or educators. Any idiot, when attempting to put his remarks into a larger context, could figure that out. They could then follow that by surmising that if he's come to this conclusion, he values that of his education which is of the non-institutional variety.

I mean, except you. You missed the entire subtext. And then asked him to prove it when he graciously pointed it out to you.

                lol!

I guess my only beef with your little ditty is "normality". The people you seem to be wanting to preach to would probably never venture to this site. But these are also people who are usually striking to be "better" than "normal". These are your fake-titty, fake-ass, stapled stomach, new nose, cheek implant frakensteins who roam the Earth and radiate from their Mecca of Southern California.

But plastic surgery come a long way baby!

Spend a few days with me and I'll show you what I mean. A 20 year old woman losing her breast to cancer can have a new one installed and live out the rest of her life feeling normal rather than stuffing her bra with tissues. A dwarf can have their legs extended through painful surgeries in order to reach their dream height of 5 feet. A burn victim can have a nose again after living under a veil for years. And a 400 lb diabetic can have another chance after removing part of his stomach to help control the amount of insulin he is on.

So to me, there is a time and place where all things don't have to vapid. And yes, you are a unique and wonderful individual with or without a nose. But you never know how the world looks like from someone with glass eye.

small breasted women are like an endangered species. two of my friends have now had implants. why do most of the paintings, cartoons, advertising, magazine covers, porn movies, strip clubs feature women with abnormally large breasts ? estrogen is responsible for the extra weight around your hips and thighs. it is not accidental that most ancient fertility symbols depict women with abundant buttocks, ample thighs and childbearing hips. these women have the least trouble getting pregnant, carrying the baby to full term and giving birth. hence, the child was more likely to live.

conspiracy theory: the effort to make fertile women seem unattractive is tied to the over population theory.

      hee, hee....

seriously though, i am so sick of the media making me feel inadequate because i don't fit some cardboard cut-out of what a pretty girl is supposed to look like. it's not that i don't like myself, but i seriously wonder how much of this media brainwashes people.

i loved the conversation i heard between two guys before my english comp class:

"this story we read about this chick with the mole or whatever. i totally get where the guy is coming from. have you ever dated a chick that's pretty hot, but like, there's one thing that's wrong with her face or something, and then the longer you date her, the bigger the like, ugly thing gets to you?"
"after a while, all you can see is that one thing. i get it, man. i would tell her to fix it. shit, if i had the money, i'd pay for her to fix it."

neither one of these guys are what you might call... drop dead attractive, either. so who's stupid, exactly?

I conjecture that most boob jobs are precisely for the purpose of being accepted by, or wanting to be better than other women. It's all about the competition. See also: menstrual synchronization

People like pretty things. They always have, they always will. We like shiny jewelry and beautiful days, and so we like beautiful people, too. It only follows that we would therefore want ourselves to be beautiful as well. Sure, all that other stuff is important, too. But it's not wrong to like superficial beauty. It's not right, either. It just... is. People like pretty things.

people who've had plastic surgery look inherently the same. their stiff, unmoving facial muscles. skin pulled too tight. the same perfectly rounded chin, the same fucked up tiny nose, big fake cockeyed tits, thick gooey lips, bleached out nasty hair.

wow, you look great. and to think, only a couple months ago you looked like you got the shit brutally beaten out of you with a heavy chain!

give me a person with crooked teeth. give me a person with a broad nose, or a high forehead, or a crooked grin. keep that superficial barbie army away from me. it's disgusting the lengths that weak people will go to to feel better about themselves. if it's disfigurement, that's one thing, but just an average girl trying to feel like a beauty queen, who's mutilating herself in the name of false perfection? why not just kill the poor misguided thing.

I'll admit that there are some startling plastic surgery disasters (Copyright Dead Kennedys, 1981) such as Joan Rivers, who looks like a William Shatner mask stretched over a basketball, and Michael Jackson, who continues his gradual transformation into Glenda, Good Witch of the East, but there are some plastic surgery cases that turn out very well. Most aging Hollywood stars have had surgery done, and most of them look pretty hot.

Now, I'm not someone who cares if another person has faults, like all normal people do. I've been attracted to women of many different shapes and sizes, none of them picture-perfect in the magazine-photo sense. I'm just not going to sit in judgement of someone who wants to look sexy in a society that values sexiness above all else. Sad fact is, if you become pretty, your quality of life improves instantly. And not just among "shallow" people; among everyone. We like the pretty.

    Dojact, I agree wholeheartedly.

In places like Sudan, children are torn from their beds in the middle of the night in the name of war and have their faces and bodies cut. Many are sold into slavery.

Only here in the land of the free and home of the brave (and other places with a fundamentally European mindset) do we subject ourselves to the knife...we pay to have it done. We sell ourselves into the slavery of thinking we're worthless unless we have perfect skin or breasts or a certain kind of nose.

Give me realness or give me death...
